Governor Announces Framework for a New Regional Stay Home Order: On December 3, Governor Newsom announced the framework for a Regional Stay Home Order that will go into effect within 48 hours in regions with less than 15% ICU availability. Orange County is in the Southern California region, which also includes Imperial, Inyo, Los Angeles, Mono, Riverside, San Bernardino, San Diego, San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara, and Ventura counties.
At this time, the Order is not in effect for Southern California. Although, the State predicts Southern California will be under the Order in "early December.” Once under the Order, it remains in effect for at least three weeks and, after that period, will be lifted when a region’s projected ICU capacity meets or exceeds 15%. From then on, a region’s status will be assessed on a weekly basis after the initial three-week period.
