Affordable Housing Programs
COVID-19 UPDATE:In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, commonly known as the Coronavirus, Governor Newsom and local agencies have declared a State of Emergency. To help slow the spread of the virus, City Hall is open to the public by appointment only. Affordable Housing services are encouraged to continue by phone or email. Appointments are available for services that cannot be completed remotely. Please contact housing@cityofbrea.net or 714-671-4421 prior to coming to the office to schedule an appointment, and to ensure you meet the necessary in-person requirements. Please note, face coverings are required and appointment check-in is located at the 3rd floor reception desk.Thank you for your cooperation and understanding. |

Homebuyer Program
Per the City’s Affordable Housing Ordinance, most new residential developments will provide at least 10% of their units for sale at below-market prices (inclusionary units) to qualified buyers.

Low & Moderate Income Rental Programs
Several apartment complexes in Brea offer rents that are lower than market rate. Please register for an online account if you wish to apply for Brea’s affordable rental program.

Mortgage Credit Certificate Program
This program is administered by the County of Orange and enables first-time home buyers to receive a federal income tax credit of up to 15% of the annual mortgage interest paid.

Senior Rental Programs
Seniors may apply to live in an apartment complex, which offers rent that is lower than market rate.
