Parking During Sweeping Hours

Sweeping occurs between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m in residential tracts. Signs are posted at the entrances into various neighborhoods indicating the day of the week on which sweeping is scheduled.

At the January 15, 2019 Brea City Council Meeting, parking enforcement has been suspended for Brea's Street Sweeping Program for an approximately one-year evaluation period. Drivers will no longer be cited for parking on the streets during Street Sweeper Operation. To facilitate effective sweeping, residents are encouraged to remove their parked vehicles during the street sweeping operation, even those displaying overnight parking permits. By keeping vehicles off the street voluntarily, you can help Brea streets stay clean and safe.

The suspension of Street Sweeping Parking Enforcement has NO effect on the City's Overnight Parking Ordinance. Street parking in Brea is still prohibited between the hours of 2:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. Citations will be written for violation of the ordinance. If you meet certain criteria, you may be granted an Overnight Parking Permit.

Cooperation is appreciated in the effort to enhance neighborhood cleanliness. For questions, call 714 990-7691.

Note: Trash service is provided under a commercial contract through Brea Disposal and is entirely separate from city-operated street sweeping.
