Country Hills Pavement & Water Improvements

The Country Hills Pavement & Water Improvement Project (Project No. 7322) is programmed in the Fiscal Year 2021- 22 Capital Improvement Program (CIP).

The project is located within the residential neighborhood north of Birch Street, south of Lambert Road, east of North Associated Road, and west of Kraemer Boulevard.

Scope of Project

The scope of the project includes replacing various water lines and fully repaving the streets within the Country Hills Tract. The work will consist of:

  • Pavement rehabilitation, including cold milling
  • Placement of new asphalt concrete
  • Sidewalk improvements
  • Curb and gutter improvements
  • Curb ramp improvements
  • Adjustment of manholes
  • Replacing over 19,000 linear feet of water lines
  • Replacing water meters and services

Construction Schedule

Construction started on Monday, October 11, 2021, and is currently anticipated to be completed by August 31, 2022. The Contractor will be working between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. The general contractor performing the work is Williams Pipeline Contractors, Inc. of Mission Hills, California. 

A phasing plan was implemented for this project to alleviate construction impacts in the neighborhood. The initial comprehensive phasing plan has been updated to reflect additional work with the following dates:

Dates for each phase, excluding the final street rehabilitation work, are as follows:

  • Phase 1: October 13, 2021 to May 17, 2022 - COMPLETE
  • Phase 2: March 23, 2022 to May 18, 2022
  • Phase 3: March 30, 2022 to July 11, 2022

Final Phase - Street Rehabilitation: July 18, 2022 to August 31, 2022.  
Additional stages and dates of the street rehabilitation work will be provided prior to July 18. 

Vehicular access to all driveways and intersections will be maintained throughout the project, but access may be limited for short durations, from time to time. The Contractor will directly provide future notices when there are expected impacts to your water service connections and driveway access.

Your cooperation throughout this project is greatly appreciated. As a reminder, construction areas can be dangerous to the public, and parents must take special care to keep children away from construction activity at all times. Thank you for your assistance with these safety practices.
